Grandma Garner Journal

GARNERS... not everything is that exciting but here is a little bit about Grandma that I learned while I was there with her. Enjoy.
September 15 -
Grandma talked about her bean farm (I always thought it was a potato farm, since it is Idaho)
September 16 -
Grandma talked about growing up... knew grandpa from real young but he was a grade older so they didn't start dating until she was a Junior. They dated until she graduated and then got married after her Senior year.
Nector Juice started when they would go fishing (Grandma's favorite juice, when she would fish with Grandpa)
Maple Nut Ice Cream was Leon's favorite too (it is Grandma's favorite)
Grandma went to Hawaii to pick up Dennis from his mission and loved the pineapples (Hula's, she couldn't remember the word and kept calling them Hula's) and she learned to Hula dance (we asked her if she would Hula dance for us and she said she doesn't want to break her hip)
Grandma talked about how she doesn't want a pacemaker because she doesn't want to live to be any older in this physical condition.
September 18 -
We drove past Grandma and her siblings and dad and the other kids old school. She said “now Mexicans have taken it over.”
September 22 -
Grandma was so happy I'm back! “I don't want you to leave again.”
Grandpa had a dog, it died and he was broken up so he got a new one and named it Rover. He taught Rover to go under the chicken coop and get the eggs without breaking them (Sweet). When Rover died he decided he was done with dogs.
K- Grandma how old are you? G- 83 K- Good age. G- What! (so funny face)
“I want my chair, well electric chair... I think that might tingle a little.”
Grandpa's proposal... He took Grandma to a movie then afterwards they were just talking and he says I have something for ya. He pulls out a beautiful ring box and said will this fit you. Then he gave it to her and asked can I have that back, I got this from a dime store so I want to get you a real one.
Grandpa was just like a son to Grandma's dad so he was thrilled.
Grandma's dad was going on a trip to Vernal Utah and asked if Carl wanted to go even though he wasn't a son. That night Grandma's dad forgot his pajama's so Carl let him wear his.
Grandma's ring is her second one. Her first one was silver and she wore it all the way through so she picked out this new one.
“I was going with three Garner's at the same time. Cousins. Oh and what a Christmas I had. I knew what I was doing.” One cousin gave her a dresser set with a mirror (she liked him the least). The other cousin gave her a compact with gold on it. And Carl gave her a blue satin robe with silver running through it.
I wore my shorts that say “One Love” on the butt (Meaghan's tennis shorts). Grandma stares at my butt and says cute!
“What are they gonna do with us old people... Do you think they'll have computers in heaven... If they have computers in heaven I'm lost.”
Grandma talked about how she's sad grandpa went first, she wanted to because now he's going to be so far ahead of her, with him being gone for twenty years already.
G- Do you want a piece of candy? K- No thanks. G- Well you better have one so you can round out.
September 23 -
Carla and Lyn stopped by (Lyn is Grandpa's cousin)
Grandma went to the Twin Fall Temple dedication and loved it (it was a while ago).
My mother used to tell me Merintha if you take one more bite like that you'll have to leave the table (Grandma was eating breakfast and her last bite as big).
“Oh I was supposed to die 3 months ago.”
Grandma talked about the Nauvoo Temple and how the family went and she got to watch the Grandchildren do baptisms for the dead and then was taken up to the celestial room and she got to watch the adults come out (everyone all in white).
Drove past the house that Grandma's oldest brother built an used to live in (all her siblings but one sister have passed away).
Almost every Saturday we'd all get together and bring a lunch and water ski. Dennis and Doyle were good even when they were young (Doyle was always a little better though).
September 24 -
“Last night I had a dream with my brothers, my twin brothers” (I didn't know she had twin brothers).
Grandma used to love to fish. She'd stay until dark and Grandpa would wait in the car for her to finally be done. “There was always one more for me to get.”
September 25 -
We went and sat on the deck. Grandma told me that they used to have a green carpet out there. They would have meals, and they were so nice. With long tables and so much room.
They used to water the grass and they would flood it. The kids would splash and play in the wet grass, the grass was perfect for the kids.
September 26 -
Grandma got a picture in the mail of her, dad, Thayne, and Cache. She goes on and on about it, she looks at it all the time. “That Doyle always sounds so happy and jovial, like nothing bad has ever happened... Thayne looks so proud. He's such a nice boy too... It's mine? I'm so happy!”
Grandma and the kids used to wake up early, the whole family. The boys would milk the cows, we would make breakfast and straighten up their rooms. Then they'd come in and we'd all eat together.
Grandma used to go out and work/ride with my husband when we were first married. We'd sing and talk and just have a good time.
September 29 -
Grandma used to work on the farm, she wasn't very big but still worked along side everyone. He and the other kids used to play kick the can and there was a bush that one kid would always hide behind and jump out trying to scare everyone else.
One year Santa Claus gave her an electric stove for Christmas. She had a little pan and her mom would give her some sugar and cream and sit over the stove and just stir. One time her brother Earl was mad because she made fudge and didn't save any for him. (Earl was one of the twins)
“I had so much fun with twin brothers and then twin sons.”
Grandma and her siblings didn't fight much, they were all really close. Some of us had our days, but nothing really.
Her twin brothers, Earl and Verl wouldn't want to go to church sometimes and so Grandma's dad would say you know you want to go so just run and get your clothes on (when Grandma's dad said something her ment business).
Grandpa's sister had twin girls, another had a boy and a girl twin, and she had Doyle and Dennis (there were all right around the same age too).
Whenever they would go camping as a family or as a church group, Grandma would always have a bag of caramels made up.
“When we built this house one of the first things was that I wanted a dishwasher.”
Fred... Hyrum... Alma... Roy (he was Bishop for 19 years)... Loin... Afton... George... Earl and Verl... Marrie
October 1 -
Grandma and Grandpa went to Israel after Shanna graduated. In St. Thomas Grandpa bought Grandma a ruby necklace.
“I've now made candy with Kariana, cookies with Jeff, and pancakes with Mark.”
October 6 -
Grandma used to hang the sheets and clothes on the two clothes lines in the back, it was hard with twins and all the diapers.
“That church there, we helped build it.” (While driving today.)
October 10-
Girls camp up by the 4-h grandma was in for years.
Grandma was only a girl and her and her girlfriend went horseback riding and they were giggling and laughing and Grandma got to laughing so hard that she slid right off the horse.
October 13-
“Terry didn't used to be as handy. But he's watched Doyle and now he does more things himself.”
October 14-
“I have a picture from Hoover dam. Grandpa is holding baby, Karlene.”
October 20-
Three months after Grandpa passed away, the Bishop called Grandma in and asked her to be relief society president. Grandma said it was hard at first but it was wonderful. Grandma made it and she's so glad she did. It was a funny calling, the Bishop called her in Sunday morning and said “I was taking a shower this morning and had inspiration to call you to be relief society president.”
October 21-
Grandma had a cousin that built a beautiful brick home out past Burley. It had a pool and they would have family reunions out there. “I thought they had everything. I wouldn't trade a thing!”
Grandma had a brother that worked out past Burley. They'd drive out and see him.
In Oakley is where the first saints came and landed.
October 24-
“Maybe they'll have a nice one for me in the beyond. You go find out.” (Talking about her wedding ring).
Grandma used to have big old groups for Christmas, fifty or so. Grandpa would always carve the turkey.
Grandma had her stroke in 2000 and that's why she has so much trouble walking.
“We walked, dad and I, on the beach and we were so white and everyone else was tan. We walked out and next thing we know there is a big water wall. Everyone knew we were from the country.”
October 27-
Grandma and Grandpa furnished a float for July fourth, they were old farmers and Dean Cameron headed it up.
October 28-
Grandma used to have seventy or so pigs. They'd have a truck full of food and Carl would have Grandma stand and hold the fence but when the pigs came out there was no holding them and they ran right over her.
When Grandma was younger her and her family went to Texas and saw a bull fight. The bulls would tare into each other, she prefers rodeo's.
October 29-
Grandma had a dream that her, her mother, and her brother were just sitting on steps. “It was nice. I was happy.”
Grandma went to Israel with Grandpa and there was a place that they could take people on camel rides. “I was up high, it hurt but I was glad I did it but I was glad to get off.”
October 30-
Grandma and Grandpa went to Las Vegas. There were a lot of people busy gambling. There wasn't much else to do. They went to a show and a “negro” sang. “He sang until sweat was dripping, he made his money worth that day.”
October 31-
On voting day the square used to be full of drunks. One time a cop called grandpa because there was an Indian who was drunk and they didn't know what to do with him. Grandpa was Bishop and so that's why they called, Grandpa took him to a motel and got him a room.
“You make me feel more like home.”
Grandma and Grandpa went to Mexico while they were forming the temple foundation.
November 6-
The last thing Grandma saw before her mother and father passed away was her mom, she was in a beautiful white dress that she made and she was in the kitchen and Grandma's father came in and embraced her and then kissed her. That was the first time Grandma's father did that. People didn't kiss in front of people like they do now.
November 12-
“We used to go down to SLC for conference and we stayed in a hotel a couple blocks away and we'd race each other.”
November 13-
The first time grandma was on a plane grandpa said “I want your hand. If we go down, we go down together.”
Grandma used to wear tight curls to her shoulders for school.
About four or five years ago grandma looked out the window and saw her green trashcan flying down the road because of the wind. So she went out to get it and as she was walking back with the trashcan behind her the wind picked up her and the trashcan. Grandma fell back right on her head. It was like a hammer and I've been no good since.

Grandma

So me being well me I change my plans so much! Vegas was so fun and I loved it but I am now in Rupert Idaho with Grandma. I help her out but I feel like I'm the one really getting the best part of the deal... I get to hear all kinds of stories, learn to cook, relax when needed, just take a drive around town with her, and oh so much more. It's been really fun but I am getting so excited for Shantel to come join me in November!!! We both will stay with Grandma and help out until a week before Thanksgiving. Then I'm going to Dacia's to watch the kids and then spend Thanksgiving with all of them and Shantel is off to travel the world some more (yes I am jealous I wish I was going with her), she's going to equador. After Thanksgiving well I haven't decided yet... I might go back to Vegas until Christmas or I might just hop around and visit those I can before I go home. Well I am having a blast with Grandma during the week and since Rexburg is close enough I come here on the weekend (the first weekend I just relaxed and such, last weekend I got here around 10am and as I pulled in my friend invited to go to Montana for a football game and so I hopped in the truck and we were off, this weekend I was supposed to go to SLC but plans changed last minute and it didn't work out so I am in Rexburg and holy cow it is a ghost town). It's been so fun coming to Rexburg though cause I have some really good friends that I was missing so much and now I get to see them every weekend :) Well that's about everything... I miss everyone so much and love ya lots. The other day we made apple pie for conference Sunday (Jessica and her husband went to visit Grandma and oh how excited she's been). Well I don't know how it tastes, hopefully it's edible, but here's how it looked.

Pink Tips :)

Well I just got to Vegas :) I am living here during the fall and working with my friend Meaghan! We drove across country for the past week, it was so fun, now it's time to get to work though. I'm excited to be here with my best friend but my time with the family was really cut short. Well we added pink tips to my hair it's kinda hard to see in this picture and then we added extensions. I love it!!

Mini Trips

School is finally out and for the first time in my life I am honestly sad! I love that I am finally done with classes but it hasn't even been a week and I miss my temporary home so much! Yes, this came as a shock to me too. Well now that school is out I decided I should probably figure out my plans for fall, since well it's basically here for me. So, right now I am in DC visiting Shantel (and the rest of the family was here but have all gone, and it was so fun seeing everyone)! On Wednesday I take a train to NC and hopefully work my butt off and play as much as I can for the next month. Then at the end of August I will head up to Jersey to see Brett and Erin and meet up with my friend Meaghan. And the two of us will drive to Utah where we will be living this fall. Well for me I would say that is a pretty good job of planning ahead, since I bought plane and train tickets a week and a half ago, lol. The only problem is what to do once I get to Utah... well I'm hoping to work for Customer Service at the Pinnacle Orem Office but I can't apply until it gets closer so I won't know whether I got it or not until it's too late to change. So I am keeping my fingers crossed and trying to figure out what else I can do (any help??). I will be living in the Provo/Orem area and they have a great bus system so even though I won't have a car I'm pretty confident that where ever and whatever my job is that it will work out. Well that's about it...

Sweet Summer Time

Wow this block is going so fast. Classes are well going... my golf and book of mormon classes are going really good but my astronomy class is well not going so good. Other then that of course I'm staying busy. I went to a concert in Utah. I went to Soda Springs and went four wheeling and to the hot springs. I go bridge jumping at least once a week. I went to Egin lake. I of course go on dates but it's me so nothing special. I go to a bbq almost every sunday where we play soccer, frisbee, football, and most importantly eat. Well of course there are still the little random things, like going to the movies, moving matresses to our porch and sleeping outside, spending all day on those same matresses taking naps, eating cereal, and watching movies, shopping a few times, lots of bon fires and just lots of playing with my roommates! They are so fun and we are not at all excited for the semester to end and we all have to go our seperate ways, we are hoping to live together again when we come back in winter. But that's far away, we're not really thinking too much about that. Besides that I like to relax and try to find time to eat and sleep, I'm getting better at making time for those but there is just so much to do and so little time. I miss everyone so much and wish I could see ya'll soon. As for my future plans, I know I only have 3 more weeks before this semester ends, but I'm still not sure. I have a lot more options then I had thought and well none of them are completely promising and so I'm applying for jobs and hoping something works out and that as it gets closer that I will be able to make my decision. That's the worst part of being a grown up. My first choice is still living in Utah with my friend but we're still looking at apartments and if it ends up being too pricy I might have to do something else. I'm just hoping that everything will fall into place, but this is life and that's not how it works, lol. Well I should probably getting back to classes so that I can think I'm getting smarter.

Around the World and Back Again.

Before I do a recap I have almost finalized my fall plans and I'm hoping to live in the orem/provo area in utah with some friends (some of you may know Meaghan Bradley) well anyways if anyone has any ideas of good paying jobs or jobs that have to do with architecture please, please let me know. It would be greatly appricitated, the more options I have the better!

Holy cow it's been an amazing month (well more then a month by now)! I went on a study abroad tour with BYU-I to Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala. I went and got to see the family in DC. And now I'm back in Idaho finishing up the summer semester.

Mexico... ruins, skyscrapers, hostels, latin dancing, agua azul, family stay, shopping, mud slide

Guatemala... temple, finca, cave, lake, zip lining, ruins

Belize... snorkeling, beach, swam with nurse sharks, touched southern sting rays

Mexico... cenote, beach, ruins, Indian Jones movie, Playa del Carmen

Once I flew back I got to stay with Chad for a few days before I flew out to DC. While in DC Shantel and I went to Roosevelt Island and saw the Iwo Jima statue. Then that weekend the family came! We went to an amazing aquirium. There was lots of just having fun with each other, I had missed everyone so much and can't wait to do it again.

So I know there aren't really details but school is keeping me busy with homework so I don't have much time to add lots. Sorry!

Now I'm back in Rexburg, taking block classes is a lot harder and crazier so I'm trying hard to keep on track but it's college and I've already met a lot of sweet friends this past week that I'm going to miss so much. So far I've already gone to the Rexburg temple, shot a shot gun, played lots of sports, went on a cave hike, tried dying my hair blonde but I didn't like it so I went back to dark brown (I'm hooked), and lots of playing! I'm loving it.

Mexico here I come!

So the past few weeks have been so crazy. I had finals and then went to utah for a few days and then started class up a week before everyone else, so I didn't get a break between semesters, so I'm so sick of school but Mexico is so worth is. Well last week was not too bad, Rexburg was pretty empty but I had a lot of homework and one friend that had stayed so I stayed pretty busy. This week I am homeless, so I'm sleeping on Britney and Courtney's couch. Their roommates are so cool and I wish when I came back I could stay here again but I'll be at Heritage again and hopefully I'll have cool roommates. My friend Meaghan is coming up to see me this weekend and Britney, Courtney, and I are so excited. This will be the first time we're all together in so long! And then saturday night I leave for Mexico and I'm so ready to get out of here, today on my way home from class it was so cold and it was snowing and all I could think about was that in just a few days I will be so hot and hopefully getting tan. So I'll be in Mexico for the next month and then when I get back I get to go to DC and see the family and some friends before my second block classes start, it's gonna be sweet. But then I have to come back to Rexburg and I'm just hoping winter will be over, but I talked to one of my friends that has done the Meso America tour and he said one year it was still snowing after they got back, I'd be so sad. Well there's nothing really new just class and lots of homework and well of course playing, but most of my friends from last semester aren't here and it's not really worth meeting too many people since I'm leaving so soon. But well it's me so I still am meeting some people, and suprisingly enough a lot of them have been girls (I know big shocker, it's not perminent though).

I Love Road Trips

Well I am in Utah again, yes I was here last weekend, no there's no one inparticular I come to see. I love Rexburg but well I'm kinda getting sick of school so I come down to Utah on the weekends:)
So last weekends trip was all planned and I had known I was coming down for like a couple weeks. It was way fun seeing some of my friends from Hawaii and meeting new people.
This weekend well lets see, my roommate asked if I wanted to come down with her at about 2 and at about 2:30 I decided for sure and at about 4:30 we left... I love being crazy and random! So, so far I chilled with my friend from back home last night and my best friend that I haven't seen since before Christmas is in town so I saw her last night too and of course met some people. I'm excited to see what tonight has in store.
So I've decided I really like this going places on the weekends so I think I'm gonna try and keep it up... there's only 4 more weeks of school and one weekend I'm planning on going to Wyoming and chilling with some friends there and one weekend I'm planning on coming down to Utah for Caches baby blessing. The only down fall of traveling on the weekends is I had to cancel my date that I had friday and the one on saturday, I felt real bad but they were really understanding so I have to reschedule them... I love being busy!!!
Hmm other news... Rexburg is getting warmer, for those of you in warm places you would think I'm crazy for saying that. I dyed my hair a little darker, I'll try and get some pictures up. My job is well going. Classes are good.
Oh and the BIG news... I GOT ACCEPTED INTO THE INTERIOR DESIGN PROGRAM AT BYU-I. The only problem is that it's a 4 year program and I'm only looking at staying i Rexburg for another year. I've started looking at other schools and UVSC is at the top of my list and Dixie is second. I love Rexburg but I wanna see what these other schools are like, I've come down to UVSC 3 times now on the weekends and I've met tons of really cool people and I'm only here for a few days at a time, I can't imagine how sweet it would be to be here full time. Plus I would be closer to family and then I will actually get to see them every once in a while. ANYONE ANY INPUT???

PS Contributions would be appreciated!

This summer I have decided to take a traveling course through BYU-I. The tour will take place during the first block of summer semester and is only offered to about thirty-five students this year. I have been priviledged to be chosen to go, while I am there I will be taking biology and anthropology classes as we travel through Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize. The trip will cost $2500 plus tuition, books, and personal expenses. I would greatly appreciate any contribution you could make to my cause. I know this experience is going to be very rewarding, both personally and educationally, and I am earnestly looking forward to it.
If you, your company, or anyone you know would be willing to help please let me know. And I can send a personalized letter to them requesting their help. Anything will be of great help. Thank you for considering helping me and I will remember all help I recieve as I travel and learn amazing things that will change my life.
Please leave me a comment, e-mail me, or call me with any questions!

62 Days till Mexico but who's counting?

Brett wanted me to put a picture of my black eye up (from jumping off my apartment, so worth it) and well it's not a very good one and my room mates say it was a lot worse then this picture seems but I don't think it was all that bad.
Brett also informed me that it has been a while since I posted anything. And well there's a good reason, this past week was half way through this semester so every teacher decided to pile on the projects. Pluss I started a job, I do custodial work on campus from 4am to 7am mon through fri, yes it's early and no it has not affected my night life yet but I haven't been doing it long enough, and once it starts taking time away from my evenings (because I'm so dang tired) then I might have to look into other options. But it's a good job, pretty easy and pays better then any of the other jobs I've been looking at. Considering the fact that I was already tired all the time I have now become more of a zombie and my days seem to smush together and I can't remember when I did what or when I supposed to do what. So I live for the weekends even more!

Well nothing too exciting has happened recently cause I've been too busy to want to do much, whenever I have some free time I either take a nap or just relax with my friends because I takes way too much effort to do anything else. But last sat I went rock climbing and it was fun but I was too worn out to truely enjoy it:/ but the sat before I did go snowboarding and it was amazing (I wish I could go all the time and get good at it!).

Well I noticed my last post was on valentines day and I thought I would mention my evening sure ended up looking up... I went and got dinner with my room mates boyfriend and then went to the library to print stuff off, little did I know they were trying to keep me away from the apartment for a bit. My friend had bought balloons and candy and put them in my room while I was gone and then when I got home he was just chilling on my couch, so I went to put my coat in my room and realized why he had been there, it was pretty cute.

So I have started count downs again...

hopefully 12 days till I take a trip to Utah

hopefully 33 days till I get to go see the family for Cache's blessing

**45 days till The Office starts up with new episodes

45 days till winter semester ends

62 days till I leave for Mexico

93ish days till I go to DC!

100ish days till I go home and have to work my butt off:(

WOW! I'm so excited for the next few months!!!

Happy Single Awareness Day... I guess

Well classes are going good. The weather has been pretty good lately. Boys are well boys. Basically... life is pretty good. Since I live in Rexburg life isn't all that exciting but I try to keep things exciting so lately I have...

watched pond skimming, you going skiing or boarding down a hill and get enough speed and skim over a pool of water, def. would have been sweet if I was good enough at boarding to do it.

jumped off the 2nd and 3rd floor of my apartment into snow, yea it's really easy to get hurt by doing this but well that didn't stop me (I did get a black I, serves me right I guess).

went sledding on well it wasn't really snow, more like a sheet of ice so we decided to go off jumps making me fly about 3 feet into the air and then not land back on the tube, yea it kind really hurt but I got back up and went again and again and again.

I bake cookies a lot and make breakfast for friends all the time, which is weird for me cause I never really cooked much until i go here.

I have watched probably over a hundred movies since I've been here, and lately we've been on a scary movie streak because my friends are trying to find one that I actually get scared in, none of that jump because something pops out and I fine the rest of the time.
I have played a few games, including twister with way too many people on the board.

I've been on a few dates but mostly just chill with lots of people.

And of course the temple dedication which was amazing!

Well that is a well kind of short not really, more like long, recap of what I do when I'm not in class or studying (wait that's why I came to college, someone should have told me that before). Well Happy Valentines Day ya'll and have a good 3 day weekend (if you get Pres. Day off), I know I will.

No me gusta escuela.

Where to begin! So classes have started and they are CRAZY but I still love being back at college. I like being busy again it's so nice, when I look back at the past few months I can't figure out how I lived because now when I'm stuck in my apartment doing nothing for a few hours I start to go crazy.
Classes... well I'm taking 14 credits so it's not too bad but I hate lecture type classes and most of them are lecture so it's way boring. I'm taking...
eng312 and everyone in my class is mearried (I guess I should have figured that when I signed up for a junior class) but considering English is my least favorite class it's not too bad, the teacher is pretty nice and we do a lot of group projects which definately has it's down falls (when there's 9 people in your group all with different schedules it's difficult to meet outside of class to finish projects).
rel121 which is the first half of the Book of Mormon, it's not bad and really relaxed which is nice because I've heard too many stories where someones religion teacher was crazy and they had pop quizzes and major tests all the time, none of that so far:)
arch100 which is a lecture class and so amazing oh wait all I do is sit there and learn stuff I don't really need to know (most of the people in the class want to be architect's or something like that, an interior designer doesn't need to know all that stuff but luckily it's a class of over 50 and there's only about 5 girls, NICE).
arch102 the lab that goes with the lecture, you would think it would be better since it's not a lecture and more of a hands on but so far we're just learning the basics so it's a lot of busy work, I'm hoping once we get past learning terms and such we can start drawing floor plans and fun stuff.
soc112 sociology is a kind of hard and boring lecture class but everything I've learned so far is really interesting, focusing is the only problem I have, mainly because I just get distracted too easily.
art220 is a cermaics class and won't help my major (I'm taking it as a fun class) but a 3 hour long class sure goes by slow, I have it twice a week and one of the two days is lecture (way boring) but luckily the other is hands on and sooo fun! I've already made a vase and a jewlery box (well my own version of them, the vaze looks nothing like what you think a vase is but I made it to hold flowers so that makes it a vase and the jewlery box doesn't have a lid and is in the shape of a flower not a box but I made it for my jewlery therefore jewlery box).
Wow... so that's my life currently, that and sledding, tubbing, movies, games, walking around in the freezing cold (it was -35 degrees when I left for class the other day, with the wind chill, 12 degrees is my new warm, SCARY I know), and most importantly dating:) Oh yeah and every once in a while I try to catch some sleep but that's the last thing on my mind.

"I'm going to (Boise) Idaho!"

Well I've been all over this weekend... I flew into Salt Lake on thur. and Thayne and MaryAnne picked me up. I chilled with them on thur. and fri. then I went up to Provo fri. and sat. and chilled with some friends from NC and some friends from HI, it was awesome. Then sun. I went to Rupert for Richard's (my cousin's) baby blessing, and I got to see Grandma Garner, which was a special treat! Then mon. David (one of Devin's friends from Rupert) drove me up to Rexburg and now I am in my new apartment... I'm not quite settled in but I'm about half way there. My room, room mate is not here yet and I'm crossing my fingers that there was a mix up and I won't have one (because there is barely any storage space and without a room mate my space would double), I do have 4 room mates though and I've met all but one and they all seem pretty nice. Well classes don't start till wed. so tomorrow I'll have time to walk around campus and figure out how to get places, and try to get used to this freezing weather. Everything is so far so good though!
