today in the kitchen...


Raw Applesauce
4 apples cored - leave peel on
1/4 c pineapple juice
1 tsp fresh fruit (I threw in a couple blueberries, or try half a strawberry)
1/8 tsp cinnamon (optional)
2 tbsp sugar
Place ingredients in jar in order as listed and secure the lid. Press the pulse button 3-5 times. Remove jar and shake it so that ingredients move around in jar. Place back on blender and press the pulse button 3-5 times. Press the smoothie button. (I used a Blendtec machine)

today in the kitchen


Yogurt
Scald 4 c milk and 1/3 cup powder milk on stove (light foam in middle and tiny bubble on edges)
Let cool but make sure it's still warm
Stir gently in 1/2 c plain yogurt (with live culture, try greek yogurt)
Pour into jars and seal
Turn on oven for 90 seconds then turn off
Place jars in oven for 8-12 hours
***it still had seperation when i finished and had a more cottage cheese type consistancy. anyone any input?? atempt 2 next week...
Granola
4 c oats
1/2 c sunflower seeds
1/4 c pumpkin seeds
1/2 c sesame seeds
(imporvise with any seeds you have)
1/2 c syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 c vegetable oil
1/2 c honey
Preheat oven to 300
Stir every 7 minutes until desired crunchyness

Today in the Kitchen...


Guacamole
2 avacados - peeled, pitted, mashed
1 lime - juiced
1/2 tsp salt
^Combine and mash
diced purple onion (amount to preference)
1 1/2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
1 roma tomatoe - diced
1 tsp minced garlic
1 serrano pepper
^Mix together
Refrigerate 1 hour
